Mohamed Younes

Chairman, Concord International Investment Group, L.P.

Mohamed Younes is Chairman of the Concord International Investment Group, L.P., a New York-based investment management company registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 1988. He is a director of Stanhope Overseas Limited, which is focused on direct investments in Egypt.

Mohamed served as Chairman of Baring Brothers & Co., Inc., the New York-based corporate finance affiliate of Baring Brothers & Co., Limited, until 1992, when Barings acquired an interest in Dillon, Read & Co., Inc.

From December 1979 until February 1987, Mohamed was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kidder, Peabody, International, Ltd. New York. He was responsible for all of Kidder and Peabody’s business outside the United States, including international investment banking underwriting, trading of Eurobonds, international portfolio management, and international brokerage. The business was conducted through New York, London, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, and Sydney offices. He was also a member of the Management Committee of Kidder, Peabody & Co., Incorporated, New York, and a member of its Board of Directors.

From July 1977 to December 1979, Mohamed was President of Industrial Holdings Limited in New York.

Before that, he was Head of International Corporate Finance and a Member of the Board of Directors of Kidder, Peabody & Co., Incorporated. Before Joining Kidder, Peabody in 1968, he spent five years with Bankers Trust Company in New York and Paris.

Mohamed has served on the board of more than 30 companies in Egypt and internationally. He is presently Member of the Board of Directors for the following companies: Egyptian Direct Investment Fund Limited; Egyptian Investment Company, SAE.; Concord Corporate Finance & Securities Marketing Company S.A.E.; Concord Portfolio Management Company S.A.E.; Concord Group International Funds PLC; Lecico – Egypt; Coral Growth Investments Limited; Coral Growth Investments (Parallel) Limited; Bisco Misr; The Nile Growth Company; Amoun Pharmaceutical Company; Concord Egyptian Growth Fund for Humint Limited; Castle Property Company Limited; Paints and Chemicals Industries Company (PACHIN); and, Concord Tulip Investment Ltd.

Mohamed graduated from Cairo University in 1960 and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1963.
