For the past 15 years, this summit has facilitated the foundations for lasting business relationships and friendships. The mission of the Newport Global Summit is to bring together leaders of the U.S. and global economy and family business owners worldwide to engage in meaningful dialogue and share knowledge. During the annual two-day retreat, participants receive guidance from experienced speakers on a range of topics and engage in highly interactive roundtable discussions. The NGS creates an environment where business leaders can come together to share their experiences and expertise through various educational programs. Further, by bringing together business owners and professionals from backgrounds, we strive to understand all business avenues and promote alignment.

The Newport Global Summit convenes in historic Newport, Rhode Island, known for its Golden Age of the colonial era and Gilded Age mansions on the shores of the Atlantic. In this natural setting which reflects upon periods of renaissance and entrepreneurial spirit, we explore new potential for economic prosperity.

Today, the NGS has no W-2 employees. NGS hires 1099 contractors to help on a project basis. Katherine (Kitty) Cushing, Founder & President devotes 100% of her time. Other board members also contribute time and efforts on a limited basis.

A global community of entrepreneurs, notable investors, family business enterprise principals, academics, economists, and influencers from around the world to share knowledge and explore possibilities for global prosperity through education.

LEGACY

Art: we believe that creative expression, such as music, art, and writing, builds essential understanding between countries, cultures, and economies. The Newport Global Summit features up-and-coming authors, musicians, artists, and other creative thinkers eager to bring their artistic genius to the business world. Art is the connector across generations and helps fuse mutual understanding and the history ties of rich relationships across countries and cultures.

Global Partnerships: to create and cultivate meaningful business relationships within and beyond the U.S. across sectors, industries, and verticals, and to enhance opportunities for meaningful dialogue and the exchange of ideas through events, programming, and partnerships.

KNOWLEDGE

Educational Programming & Mentoring: We believe education, shared knowledge, and organic convenings are the gateways to a better future, economy, and society for all. We are excited to grow the Newport Global Summit, Inc. to include programming for the next generation of leaders who are passionate about expanding their knowledge and awareness of global partnerships and learning from seasoned leaders.

PURPOSE

Entrepreneurial Ventures, Innovation: We believe the spirit of the Newport Global Summit is rooted in shared purpose and alignment for positive impact around the world. We will continue to bring together the brightest and best minds of our world’s future. As such, we are proud to support entrepreneurial ventures and purpose-driven start-ups across diverse sectors and fields to contribute to a stronger economy, local communities, and the global workforce.

Newport Global Summit, Inc., a newly designated 501(c)(3) public charity based in Rhode Island, is dedicated to fostering global dialogue and innovation through the Newport Global Summit and related initiatives. Contributions to our organization will be applied in the following key areas:

1. Annual Summit Support Funds will directly support the planning, logistics, and execution of the Newport Global Summit, held August 19–20, 2025. This includes venue costs, speaker engagement, program materials, and hospitality for attendees.

2. Operational Sustainability

Contributions will help establish and maintain the nonprofit’s core operations, including staffing, administrative infrastructure, and compliance with nonprofit governance standards.

3. Program Development

We are committed to expanding our impact through the development of new educational and leadership programs aligned with the Summit’s mission. These may include year-round speaker series, youth engagement initiatives, and global leadership workshops. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and will be used to advance our mission of promoting liberty, leadership, and innovation on global scale.

We actively focus on current, relevant issues across the global economy, and the geo-political external factors that affect business, investment, and innovation. We pursue open dialogue and strategic thinking to help face and solve today's complex economic, and societal issues, across arenas like AI, real estate, financial investment, and technology. We are in the process of adding a new program, Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs, and we recently began incorporating more female-focused opportunities and programming into the Summit agenda.

Our primary services revolve around the annual Summit. We are hoping to expand programming as we grow and receive funding. The flagship event takes place each year, the second to last week in August in Newport, Rhode Island.

We intend to develop more programming throughout the year. We are currently exploring smaller more focused retreats in Rhode Island and in destination locations.

We have a vision to expand upon our three programming pillars (legacy, knowledge, and purpose) and to grow opportunities to more intentionally involve the community, grow partnerships, and begin to invest in the next generation of young thinkers and doers.

In order to make it realistic to continue the Newport Global Summit annual event and new programming we need to have more resources to pay for Executive Director and operations beyond the hard costs of the annual event. In order to broaden the content and make it more meaningful for the community, we need to have funding that is not entirely dependent on sponsorship. Grant funding will allow us to make content for our programs more meaningful and align with a higher set of values and purpose.

For the past 16 years, NGS has expanded to include young innovators, entrepreneurs, and professionals with seasoned business leaders, resulting in the fostering of learning, growth, collaboration, and mentorship opportunities. This has, in-turn, supported authentic friendships and partnerships that transcend borders and industries, transforming the broader NGS community into a family of like-minded individuals and empowering the leaders of tomorrow.

Hundreds attend the summit each year, derive value from the content and continue to engage with the NGS community. NGS has provided both qualitative and quantitative impact to attendees, driving relationships and business opportunities that have ultimately led to collaborations across a variety of arenas. They are educated, thought leaders, and enriched by lasting friendships, and meaningful long term relationships, and represent diverse industries, sectors, and brands.

Since 2009, the Summit has expanded from the U.S.-Middle East bilateral relationship to focus on fostering multi-country, global perspectives and facilitating common purposes through knowledge sharing across participants.

Averages have ranged from $100,000 to $200,000 dollars depending on the year, board involvement, and external factors.

For the Newport Global Summit to be sustainable and create an organization to support activities it is critical that we raise funds to hire an Executive Director.
