Juanito Pascual

Flamenco Guitarist, Composer, Educator & Speaker

NPR has called Juanito Pascual "one of the hottest flamenco guitarists in recent years." A Minneapolis native, Juanito began playing guitar at age 12 before traveling to Spain at just 16 years old, where he immersed himself in the country's rich flamenco tradition and culture. Inspired to blend the passion of flamenco with American musical styles including blues, rock, and jazz, he went on to study at the New England Conservatory, graduating with honors in 1997.

Juanito has performed on four continents at renowned venues including Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, and the Aspen Jazz Festival. He has released three critically acclaimed original albums, with his newest project, Gold & Rose—a groundbreaking flamenco-inspired tribute to Jimi Hendrix—scheduled for release in February 2027 on the Motéma Music label.

In addition to his performance career, Juanito is an accomplished educator and speaker. He is the author of The Total Flamenco Guitarist instructional method book and has appeared on the silver screen with a cameo in The Pink Panther 2 alongside Steve Martin and Andy García. Through music, storytelling, and education, Juanito inspires audiences to embrace creativity, cultural curiosity, and the transformative power of artistic expression.
