NEWPORT GLOBAL SUMMIT ADVISORY BOARD

Andrew K. Reilly

Managing Director, VCFA Group

Andrew “Drew” Reilly joined VCFA as Managing Director in February of 2017 primarily to focus on origination and development of venture and growth equity secondary opportunities.

Drew brings over seventeen years of investing and operating experience to VCFA. Drew started his career at EMC Corporation (Hopkinton, MA), a hyper-growth technology company, in various roles from 1993 to 1998. Drew left EMC and co-founded SANZ (aka ITIS Inc.) a data storage services and integration company which he helped grow to roughly $100 million and ultimately played a key role in the sale of SANZ to a large private equity firm in 2000. Drew also co-founded Raging Knowledge, a natural language processing and machine learning company in 1999 and lead the software company to market and shortly thereafter through a sale to KMS, Ltd. (Manchester, England) a FTSE listed company in 2001. Leveraging his entrepreneurial experience in 2002 Drew co-founded Thomas Keenan Ventures (Westport, CT) an early-stage venture capital firm focused on data storage, telecommunications, and medical device companies. In 2008, under the advice and counsel of Dayton Carr (VCFA founder), Drew transitioned from early-stage venture capital investing to secondary investing as the founder of Accretive Capital. Accretive is a secondary private equity firm focused on GP-led fund restructuring transactions. Drew also held two operational roles from 2013, at Defense Mobile, a telecommunication company in partnership with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile as Executive Director, and at KVH, a publicly traded satellite communications company, as Director of Business Development, through February 2017. In parallel to Drew’s career, he has served on various corporate and non-profit boards as well as appointed public service posts. Andrew graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1991.
